So, here we go!

Hi there, nice to meet ya.  Wow, I'm so excited.  I've been looking at this blogging thing for quite a while and I've finally decided just to jump in there and do it - I figure that's the only way I'm gonna learn.  If you read the "About Me" section, you already know that I have a 100-year-old farmhouse that's gonna be my main project.
Isn't she a beaut?

I was so happy when I found this house for sale, but I didn't think my hubby would approve since it's sort of out in the country, but HE DID!  Yay!  Thankfully the previous owners had done the expensive type renovations before we bought it (like plumbing, electricity, roof, etc.), so we don't have to do those things and I can just focus on making it home for us.

One of the coolest things is that there's also a cottage on our property.  This is gonna be great!  It's gonna be my shabby chic get-away - lots of pink, frills and roses.  I'm sure none of the men will want to come inside - hehe.

Sooo, I've already been collecting lots of goodies for deco from the Goodwill, Salvation Army and thrift stores.  Shhh ... it's all hidden away in the water heater closet for now - don't tell Mr. C anyone.

I've been reading lots of blogs and loving some of the really cool stuff that these very talented people are doing and I have to admit I've copied a few already.

I've seen a lot of people doing things with birds, but I really liked the idea of the beans in the jar and I'm sorry to say that I don't remember where I saw that.  If I run across it again, I'll be sure to give them credit.  The bird pics came from The Graphics Fairy.  http://www.graphicsfairy.blogspot.com/  If you haven't already, make sure you check her out - she has some awesome stuff and the greatest thing is that it's all FREE!!  That's my kind of price tag.

I've been gathering furniture to make new again (either shabby new or new, new - mostly depends on where it's gonna go).

This is just a small portion

I've bought loads of oops paint from Wal-Mart, Lowe's and Home Depot.  Now I just have to get started.  I figured this blog would be a good way to keep me on track.  I tend to start one project and then get sidetracked and start 10 more before I finish the first! So, anyhoo, if you'll help me stay focused, I'm hoping that we can inspire each other - maybe you have some projects to complete too?

Stay tuned for my first project which will be my daughter's room - what do you think of a purple and black color combination?
