About Me and Mine

Mr. C and I on our wedding day

I finally got it right (after a couple of tries!) and married the right man on 12/31/09.  He was my high school sweetheart and first love.  He is still my best friend and puts up with all of my thrifting adventures - heck, he even enjoys a good yard sale or two!  We're living a little bit of a different married life now living in two different states.  The Hubs had a great opportunity and went to work in Florida.  I stayed here in good ole Virginny because my daughter is still in high school and this is where I'm from and all my family is here and I love my home here and so on  :-)  Anyway, after my baby girl finishes high school, I'll spend a little more time in Florida with Mr. C.  I'll probably spend a few weeks there and then come home for a few weeks - I think this may be the best kind of marriage - no opportunity to get on each other's nerves!!  It's tough being apart right now, but we're working on it.

I have three kiddos -- although they're not kiddos any longer ;-( :  23-yo twin boys, Daniel and Jesse, and my 16-yo daughter, Taylor.

Daniel, Taylor, Me, Jesse

Jesse is married with a 3-yo little girl who is the twinkle in my eye!!  I call her boogaboo or shugaboog.  It's so much fun to just get to spoil the little one and not have to worry if she behaves or not - that's the parents' job and NOT the grandparents - Yeah!

Daddy and Shugaboog

Jesse works very, very hard and I'm quite proud of him for taking care of his family.  Jesse is in the National Guard and served a tour of duty in Iraq - boy, what a tough time.  I thank God every day that he came home when so many don't.

Daniel is living at home right now trying to get his finances straight to be on his own.  He needs a girlfriend I think (I hope he doesn't read this - I don't think he'd like that).  Don't all good boys need a good girlfriend though?!

And last, but certainly not least, Taylor - ahh, Taylor!  My beautiful, strong, independent 16-yo!  Wow, teenagers are tough!  My friend and I are convinced that that is why God invented the Polaroid - so you would remember why you have to love the monsters who live in your house!

So that's my little family and boy do I love 'em!
